BLANDÓN designs a wedding gown and bridesmaid dress

The occasion:  A wedding

The couple:  Ignacio and Gabriela

The location:  Managua, Nicaragua

The date:  March 2012

Lesly Blandón, designer of BLANDÓN, was offered the opportunity and honor of designing the wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses for one of his very close and intimate friends, Gabriela Fernandez.  The event would take place in Lesly’s native country and city of Managua, Nicaragua.  Gabriela currently resides in Spain and her new husband is Spaniard.  It came with no surprise when she requested a wedding gown with some ‘spanish/flamenco flare’ details, yet at the same time modern.  The gown was made from exquisite silk embroidered chiffon in ivory.  The dress was designed with strap-less shoulders and an uneven heme in layers making it shorter in the front, longer and fuller in the back allowing to showcase a selected pair of vibrant purple Roger Vivier stilettos with a satin rose detail.  A mantilla veil with a flamenco headpiece adorned the brides head completing the modern-spanish/flamenco wedding gown and making the bride truly breath-taking.  OLÉ!

The bridesmaid dresses were designed and created from stretch silk charmeuse in purple.  The one shoulder, ruffle collar detail dress added to the spanish/flamenco theme.

{Should Fashion & Politics Mix?} Interesting post. Check it out

Read this post from a blog I follow.  I found it quiet interesting.  Was a line crossed?  Could we divide the two?  When we see fashion, could we just look at the pieces put together to create a style or do we look at the person wearing it and judge from there if the style is amazing or not so amazing?  As I read the post, I capture what the blogger states.  What are your conclusions?

A ‘Different’ kind of window shopping…’Moving Fashion’

While enjoying a stroll up 1st Avenue in Manhattan, we came across a ‘different’ type of window display.  This array of fashion is quiet unique and creative, don’t you agree?  The ‘fashion line’ below was created with ‘moving supplies’; bubble wrap, storage boxes, etc.  This amazing and creative idea was displayed at the Manhattan Mini Storage on 62nd Street and 1st Avenue.  We call this inspiration, ‘Moving Trend’.
